Andre Foods International seeks to recruit the following persons (Gender and Protection officer, Data Assistant and Mechanic/Driver) For General Food Assistance and Nutrition programs in partnership with United Nations World Food Programme for Imvepi refugee settlement

AFI is devoted to use community based sustainable models to promote food literacy, best WASH practices and elevated income that translates into development and reduction of malnutrition. AFI works with both local and international development partners to provide a comprehensive approach to solving public nutrition problems.

1. Position: Gender and Protection Officer
Reports to: Programme Officer
Duty Station: Imvepi Refugee settlement
No. of Positions: 1
Job summary: The Gender and Protection officer oversees and ensures that there is effective gender mainstreaming in all activities done during project implementation.

? The job holder shall provide technical support to develop systems and mechanisms for proper mainstreaming of gender and protection in AFI’s programmes. To prevent, respond, and resolve the abuse, neglect and violence experienced by children and women in Imvepi refugee settlement.
? Actively participate in needs assessments, post distribution monitoring and field visits.
? Plan, implement and carryout activities and report on any specific Protection and Gender activities which are required and necessary.
? Carryout regular focus group discussions and individual interview with community structures, community health mobilisers, women, men, girls, boys and people with special needs to ensure that protection and gender concerns within the target communities and linked to Andre Foods International’s activities are raised and addressed.
? Leads in integrating gender into MEAL processes; setting specific indicators for process monitoring and advising team in obtaining gender specific information
? Proactively ensure Protection and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) measures and reporting mechanism are in place and raise awareness among teams, project stakeholders & community.

? Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Gender studies, development studies, Law, Social Sciences or any other related humanities’ related field.
? Not less than three (3) years of work experience in the design and implementation of gender preferably in food security, nutrition, livelihoods or related programmes
? Experience in developing and delivering gender training, facilitation of learning process, networking and knowledge management.
? Fluency in speaking and writing English and Lugbara languages is a must. Ability to speak Arabic, Lingala or kakwa will be an added advantage.

2. Position: Data Assistant
Reports to: Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant
Duty station: Imvepi Refugee settlement
No. of positions: 1

Job Summary: The IT assistant supports the M&E personnel in data collection, entry and reporting. He/she also provides general IT related support for programme activities.

? Support adherence to the project M&E framework, monitoring and evaluation tasks (planning, coordination of monitoring activities, data collection, processing, cleaning and analysis) for project evaluation purpose.
? Conduct regular quality checks during data collection, carry out data entry ensuring clarity, accuracy and consistency ? Configuring hardware & software, setting up peripherals such as printers or routers, repairing equipment, & providing technical support related to both hardware and software for computer users ? Install new hardware or software to keep organization’s data storage & communication up to date.
? Initiate and manage digital innovations (digitization of programme activities) in liaison with programme staff.
? Support the Field teams to improve capture and management of data from ongoing activities

? Minimum qualification of Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems or related field from any recognized institution.
? A minimum of two (2) years of work experience in IT roles in any company/organization
? Must have proven skills in web-development, DB design (My SQL, SQL, access), networking & proficiency in MS office packages.
? Fluency in written and spoken English a must.

3. Position: Mechanic/Driver
Reports to: Logistics Assistant
Duty station: Imvepi Refugee settlement
Number of positions: 1

Job summary: The mechanic/Driver performs repair work and maintenance of motor vehicles and motor cycles of the organization. He/she drives the allocated field staff to and from their places of operation. MAIN DUTIES/

? Drive any AFI staff and other personnel who is working under the supervision of AFI to and from their designated places of AFI official work.
? Perform routine preventative and regular maintenance of organization vehicles and motor cycles according to established preventive maintenance schedule such as Rotate and balance tires; change oil and filters, lubricate vehicle parts, inspect and replace hoses, belts, mirrors, lamps and maintain all fluid levels.
? Identifies mechanical problems and repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, engines and other mechanical problems.
? Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing. Check log books of office vehicles for completeness of records and submit a weekly report indicating mileage travelled.
? Maintain accurate and updated records of preventive maintenance.
? Plans and establishes timetable to complete repairs and maintenance.

? Minimum of high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
? Must have vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in auto repair or related field.
? A minimum of two years of related experience in vehicle repair and driving is preferred.
? Must have knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair and have Proven ability to diagnose and repair vehicles
? Should be having a valid driving permit. Class DL is an added advantage
? Speaking any of these languages Lugbara, Arabic, Madi and Kiswahili is an added advantage.
