CONSULTANCY SERVICES
TO CONDUCT A FORMATIVE STUDY ON THE PROMOTION OF SCHOOL GARDENS IN KARAMOJA FOR IMPROVED SCHOOL MEALS AND LEARNER NUTRITION OUTCOMES
REF: 2026/059/AFI
- BACKGROUND
Andre Foods International (AFI), in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), is implementing the Integrated Nutrition Programme (INP) across schools in Karamoja. As part of this programme, AFI has supported schools to establish gardens producing nutritious crops such as Orange-Fleshed Sweet Potatoes (OFSP), Iron-Rich Beans, and vegetables. These gardens complement WFP’s food deliveries and equip learners with practical skills to promote a culture of nutritious food production at household level.
Given the persistent challenges of food insecurity, malnutrition, and climate variability in Karamoja, AFI seeks to commission a formative study to generate evidence that will guide the design, adaptation, and scale-up of climate-resilient school garden models.
